*Title* - "Relationships, Not Just Technologies: Why Connections Matter for Global Resource Sharing"
*
*
*Summary* - Document delivery and resource sharing in libraries transcends software and platforms. Cultivating connections, communication, understanding, and collegial relationships with partners across networks is arguably more vital to success than possessing cutting-edge technologies. Resource sharing is fundamentally about collaboration between professionals to mutually serve our collective user communities.

In this webinar, Peter Bae and Ibrahim Farah will provide insights into building productive working relationships in library resource sharing based on their own experiences. They will share practical ideas for connecting with colleagues globally to create cooperative networks well-positioned to deliver impactful services to patrons. Presenters will make the case that prioritizing meaningful relationships with other practitioners is key not only for personal growth but for advancing resource sharing through a spirit of openness and goodwill.

In this interactive and practical presentation, Peter and Ibrahim will aim to inspire you to transform your professional relationships through communication. They will use real-life examples to show you how to shift from transactional interactions to fostering collaborative partnerships, expanding your network, and prioritizing human connections over technology and metrics.

*Speakers* - Ibrahim Farah is the Public Services Librarian at the University of Balamand Libraries in Lebanon, he served in the IFLA Document Delivery and Resource Sharing committee from 2012 to 2020 as a standing member and is currently a member of the IFLA Copyright and Other Legal Matters Advisory Board. Ibrahim’s interest in resource-sharing goes back to 2006 when he was first hired as a resource-sharing librarian and later access services head librarian at the American University of Beirut. He participated in the RSCVD community project and still working with colleagues on creating a large international resource-sharing community powered by volunteers. His focus areas include copyright, resource sharing, access services, and referencing.
