su invito di Helen Chan dell’IFLA, condivido con tutti i potenziali interessati la notizia del webinar "Empowering Libraries in the AI Era: Ethical Engagement, Strategic Adoption, and Professional Development", organizzato dalla sezione IFLA Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning (CPDWL) in collaborazione con i comitati regionali IFLA per Europa, Asia-Oceania, Nord America, Medio Oriente e Nord Africa, America Latina e Caraibi e Africa subsahariana.
Il webinar è gratuito si terrà venerdì 11 aprile dalle 15:00 alle 16:30 ora italiana (9:00–10:30 PM Hong Kong Time).
Il seminario on line esplorerà il potenziale trasformativo dell'intelligenza artificiale (IA) nelle biblioteche, affrontando oltre ad informazioni pratiche sull'adozione strategica dell'IA, anche considerazioni etiche e legali legate alla privacy ed all'European AI Act. It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to the upcoming webinar titled "Empowering Libraries in the AI Era: Ethical Engagement, Strategic Adoption, and Professional Development", organized by the IFLA Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning (CPDWL) Section in collaboration with the IFLA Regional Division Committees for Europe, Asia-Oceania, North America, Middle East and North Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

This highly anticipated session, scheduled for April 11, 2025, from 9:00–10:30 PM HKT, will explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in libraries. Participants will gain actionable insights into strategic AI adoption, ethical considerations, privacy challenges, and the implications of the European AI Act. The session will also highlight regional and cultural perspectives on AI adoption and address vital topics such as fundraising, workforce skill development, and education related to AI applications in libraries. This webinar marks the fifth installment in the CPDWL webinar series, continuing its mission to explore cutting-edge developments in the library profession.

We are honored to feature two distinguished speakers: Jean-Philippe Moreux, a leader in AI at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) with extensive contributions to AI projects and research, and Iman Magdy Khamis, an AI and Data Science expert with over 19 years of experience in academic and public libraries.
