Dear National coordinators,


Following our discussion at the last National Coordinators meeting, I am 
writing to share the Expression of Interest form for the new Community 
of Practice (CoP) focused on the legal, market and technological 
challenges surrounding ebooks and e-lending across Europe.

We envision this Community of Practice as a peer-learning and collective 
advocacy space where library and information professionals, legal 
experts, and advocates can exchange knowledge, share experiences and 
coordinate action. Its aim will be both to provide a space for 
practitioners to strengthen institutional capacity by co-developing best 
practices, practical tools and networks that support progress, as well 
as to build evidence and coordinate activities intended to advance 
positive change at both national and EU levels.


*We would be very grateful if you could share the form with relevant 
contacts and networks who may be interested in contributing to and 
shaping this community.* Please note that this initiative is intended 
specifically *for library and information professionals involved in 
ebook acquisition, licensing and lending*, as well as those supporting 
them in this. It is not aimed at publishers, commercial ebook platforms, 
or author and rights-holder representative organisations.


We will collect expressions of interest until *30 June*. Following this, 
we will organise an initial consultation meeting to discuss the 
responses received and jointly explore the community’s priorities, scope 
and activities. Please let us know if you would be interested in 
participating in this consultation.


Our intention is to formally launch the Community of Practice after the 
summer break, and your support in reaching interested colleagues across 
your networks would be greatly appreciated.
