Description
The Oxford Cognitive Screen Test--Italian Version (Mancuso et al., 2016) is an Italian translation of the original Oxford Cognitive Screen (OCS; Demeyere et al., 2015), developed to assess cognitive impairment after stroke. The ten subtests of the OCS (picture naming, semantics, orientation, visual field, sentence reading, number writing and calculation, broken hearts, imitation, recall and recognition, trails task) cover five areas (language, memory, number processing, attention-executive function, and praxis) critical for the evaluation of stroke. The OCS provides a "snapshot" of a patient’s cognitive profile. The English version was translated into Italian by three independent Italian–English proficient speakers. In an Italian sample of healthy participants, age, education, and gender differently affected performance on the different subtests. In an Italian sample of stroke patients, the Italian OCS demonstrated good sensitivity. (PsycTests Database Record (c) 2025 APA, all rights reserved)
