Il film illustra i risultati di ricerche condotte nell’ambito del Progetto Finalizzato Meccanizzazione Agricola del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche. In particolare, nella prima parte vengono mostrati in opera originali prototipi di scuotitori e di scuoti-raccoglitori, adatti alla raccolta meccanica delle ciliegie. Nella seconda parte si considerano invece scuoti-raccoglitori studiati per la raccolta delle pesche. Disegni animati illustrano i principi di funzionamento delle macchine realizzate e mettono in chiara evidenza il loro basso consumo energetico rispetto alle similari apparecchiature già esistenti sul mercato. Numerosi grafici dimostrano la convenienza economica delle tecniche di raccolta illustrate; viene anche affermata la immediata possibilità di trasferimento delle conoscenze raggiunte nella realtà agricola nazionale.

The film shows the results of researches carried out within the sphere of the Italian National Research Council’s Mechanized Agriculture Project.
In particular, the first part shows the operation of original prototypes of shakers and shaker-harvesters suitable for the mechanical harvesting of cherries.
The second part shows shaker-harvesters specially designed for harvesting peaches.
Animated sequences illustrate the working principles of the machines produced and provide a clear demonstration of their low-energy consumption compared with similar machines already available on the market. A number of graphs and tables demonstrate the economic feasibility of the harvesting techniques illustrated; it is also stated how immediately possible it is to transfer the knowledge acquired into the realities of Italy’s present agricultural situation.
